Məqalənin başlığında əvvəlcə kitablar deyə yazmağı düşünürdüm ancaq sadəcə kitab etiketi ilə yazıya başlamağın bu kiçik məqalənin məğzini anlamağa həm də o kitablara haqsızlıq olacağı üçün klassiklər olaraq dəyişdirməyi uyğun gördüm. Tartışmasız klassiklər özəlində kitablar, bizim sosyal həyata daxil olmağımızda önəmli yer işğal edir hətta əksik də qalır deyə bilərik...Daha da önəmli olan vaxtından daha az vaxtımızın olmağıdı. Həyat standartlarımızın son 150 ildə inanılmaz dərəcədə artmasına baxmayaraq, gündəlik həyatımızı bir plan üzərinə qurub, onu tempə sala bilmirik. Zaman çox sürətlə keçir və Cem Yılmaz’ın dediyi kimi sürət artıq bizim düşmənimizdi.
Bizim planlara, listlərə, həyatımızı biraz daha asanlaşdıracaq şeylərə ehtiyacımız var. Bilgi gücdüsə daha az məlumat da effort itkisi, vaxt ve bəzən də pul itkisinə səbəb olabilir. Mənim blogumun ən dəyərli qismi hazırladığım listlərdi ki, mənim daha öncə yaşadığım itkiləri məndən sonrakiların yaşamaması üçün hazırladığım məqalələrdən ibarətdi. Daha öncə hazırladığım list tövsiyyə məqsədli idisə, indi hazırladığım isə daha çox məlumat vermək, sizə uzun-uzun seçim itkisi vermədən sizə kömək edəcək şəkildə təsəvvür yaratmaqdı.
Mən şəxsən həftədə ən az bir dəfə kitabçıları gəzib, gündəmi tutmağa çalışıram. Bunlar daha çox alışveriş mərkəzindəki kitabçılar olur ki, buna səbəb də orada hər zaman dəyişiklikləri görmək mümkün olduğu üçündü – digər halda ümumi kitabçılar yenə ümumi olaraq standart şeyləri satırlar...Bəs başlıqdaki üniversitet dərslikləri nə deməkdi deyə soruşulacaq olsa – mən hamımız kimi eyni zamanda digər ölkələrdə tələbələrə hansı dərsliklərin oxudulduğu, bizdən nə dərəcə fərqli olduqlarını görmək, hansı yetərlilikdə olduğumu bilmək ehtiyacı hiss edirəm. Digər kitablardan fərqli olaraq, Klassiklər tələbənin bitirməsi gərəkən kitablar olduğu üçün mənim 4 ildə oxuduqlarımla (ve mənə oxutdurulanla) digərlərinə oxutdurulanlar arasındaki fərqi bilmək bizə çox şey qazandıra bilər. Ona görə bu məqalə bir ehtiyacdır! Niyə Anglo-Saxson dünyanı seçdiyim soruşulacaq olsa isə - birincisi perspektivim Asiyaya yox bizdən qərbdə yerləşənlərə yönəlik olduğu üçün, ikincisi bizim qərbdə olanlarla bir mənalı olaraq iç-içə olduğumuz üçün, üçüncüsü də Columbia, Amerika mərkəzli Open Sylabus Project’in belə bir website hazırlayaraq, yəqinki bir ilkə nail olduğu üçün.
Syllabus Project – bir milyondan çox üniversitet dərsliklərini bir araya gətirərək, ingilis dilli dünyada hansı kitabların oxudulduğunu göstərmək məqsədi ilə son üç-dörd il bir çalışma ediblər.1 Keçən il də bunu online olaraq bizlərə də açdılar. Həmin listə 5 ölkə - ABŞ, Britanya, Kanada, Yeni Zelandiya və Avstralia – daxildir. Dərsliklər isə 12 fərqli bölümü içinə daxil edir. Ayrı-ayrı olaraq da yüzdən çox üniversitetdə hansı kitabların dominant olduğunu görmək olur.

Buna əsasən İngilis Dilli Dünyada ən çox oxudulan ilk 3 kitaba Platon və Marx, 10 klassikə ise Marry Shelley (Frankstein), Aristotel (Etik), Thomas Hobbes (Leviathan), N.Machiavelli (Hökümdar), Sophocles (Oedipus) və Shakespeare (Hamlet) daxildir. İlk 20’yə isə Edward Said Michel Foucault, Thomas Kuhn, J.Stuart Mill və Martin Luther King daxildir..Həmən arxasınca isə son 20 ilin siyasi diskursunu önəmli şəkildə təsir etmiş Samuel P.Huntington Mədəniyyətlər Çatışması ilə listə daxil olub. Tartışmasız listə özünü Yunan Fəlsəfəsinə borclu hesab edən qərbdə Platon və Aristotel demək olar ki, bütün kitabları ilə yer ediblər ve Shakespeare də unutmayaq – 4 kitabla Anglo-Saxson dünyada ən çox oxunanlar arasındadır. Bundan başqa ilk 100 kitaba Kant Max Weber,Kafka, Fitzgerald, Virginia Woolf..
Amerika’da oxudulan kitablarla aşağıdaki listdəki kitablar demək olar ki, üst-üstə düşür. Ayrıntılı olaraq buradan da baxa bilərsiniz.2 Ancaq Britaniya’daki dərsliklər isə çox fərqli və orjinaldılar. Bəs mən hansıları oxumuşam? İlk onluqdan sadəcə Karl Marks (Kominist Manifesto) və Machiavelli (The Prince).
İndi isə mən oxuduğum bölüm və üniversitetim haqqında olan məlumatları verdikdən sonra məqaləni bitirməyə çalışacağam. Saytda yerləşdirilən 12 bölümdən birisi Politics başlığı altında görüdüyüm qədəri ilə daha çox ‘’İnternational Relations’’ disiplininə referans verən kitablar görülür. Ümumi olaraq bunlar oxudulur.

Son olaraq bize üniversitetin ilk ili Nezir hoca tərəfindən Heyvan Çiftliyi və 1984 kitabı oxudulmuşdu. Eyni zamanda birinci siniflərə Machiavelli – Hökümdar kitabı Morgenthau Realizm üzərinə 6 maddəsi əlavə material olaraq oxudulmaqdadı. 4cü sinifdə isə Thomas Kuhnın kitab özeti Kantın Əbədi Barış analizi ve s. Kimi dərs ödevleri semestr içərisində tələbələrə oxudulur.
